Clipping – who I know very little about, nor do I remember when I first heard them – are the group (can you call them a band?) that truly introduced me to what rap music can be – and this track I think exemplifies everything that I admire about them – simplicity, skill, soul, anger, reflection, depth – what more do you want? This is one of those tracks I can put on repeat until I have to go to sleep and then hope that the next day I forget about it so I can listen to something else. The female vocalist, Mariel Jacoda – why is there not more of her anywhere? So, if you can get past the first track Engoy! the rest.
